Council President Report
First of all I would like to thank everyone who has supported our Youth Group and its fundraisers!!! You are such an amazing church family it literally makes me feel so loved! The outpouring of support from the last fundraiser with the Bake Sale was so great!
This month my two oldest children Blessing (18) and Brooklyn (14) will go to their first ever Youth Conference. We will have a blessing for their trip July 3rd in Church. We will be celebrating Independence Day on July 4th. Sometimes I hear negative things spoken about our country. And all I can think about is my mother's German Lutheran family that escaped Germany when they were forced to sell their property or join the Nazi party to come here. Or my father who was born and raised in a small beautiful Pacific Island called Samoa. He left there, being the firstborn of 12 children, for America. He left to join my mom, small twin sisters and me in a new and different country called the United States.
Sometimes I think the United States is so intertwined with God because it offers people hope. Hope for a better life, hope for a brighter future; that’s what I think of when I think of America. When I see the bright colors of fireworks reflected in their young hopeful faces, I see hope and God and love for my country. Happy 4th of July to all and may God’s grace fill your heart and his love set you free.
