This is Transfiguration Sunday. It is the last Sunday in Epiphany. As we move into the season of Lent which looks at the days leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus, we find this account inspiring.
Jesus takes Peter, John, and James up to a mountain to pray. While Jesus is praying, His clothes become brighter than a flash of lightning. His glory is peeking through His humanity. Moses and Elijah appear with Jesus discussing His exodus. Jesus had just told His disciples He would be put to death and on the third day be raised again.
A cloud covers them and the voice of the Father speaks affirming Jesus and His mission. Join us today as we learn how God encouraged Jesus to go to Jerusalem where He would face death on a cross.
