Mark 8:22-26

There is a short healing story that is only in the Gospel of Mark. It is found in Mark 8:22-26. It is the story of Jesus healing a blind man. Jesus touches the blind man once and asks what he sees. The formerly blind man says he sees people who look like trees moving around. Jesus gives His healing touch a second time and the man sees clearly.

This story helps explain how Peter rightly identified Jesus as the Messiah but couldn’t accept what Jesus said the Messiah must do. Peter needs a second touch to understand that he is not calling the shots. Jesus is following the will of the Father and will not be stopped.

When we come to faith it is wonderful. We receive salvation and claim Jesus as our Savior. But the next step is claiming Jesus as the Lord of our lives. Join me today as together we look at what Jesus expects of us as our Lord.
