Jesus continues with His sermon on the Mount. Today Jesus shares with us “house rules” for living in the kingdom. Jesus asserts His authority by saying “You have heard it said of old, you shall not murder but I say to you…”. Jesus is claiming to be on the same level as God.
Jesus is God. He can tell us God’s intent behind the commandments He gave to Moses. Jesus explains that God desires all of us to love one another. These are rules for living together in community.
